This policy explains what personal data is collected on the website https://softie.dev, why it is processed and what rights you have over it. It does not cover information collected by third parties on other websites, even if they are linked from here.

What data is collected, and why
The contact form is the only form on this website. Sending it collects three pieces of data, all of them provided by you voluntarily:
| Data | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Name | Addressing you in the reply |
| Email address | Being able to reply to you |
| Message | Understanding and answering your enquiry |
The sole purpose is to handle and answer your message. This data is not used to send you advertising, is not added to any mailing list, and is not used for profiling or automated decision-making.
Ticking the box to accept this policy is required in order to send the form, and
ticking it is a voluntary act on your part. If you would rather not use the
form, you can write directly to info@softie.dev.
Legal basis
Processing is based on your consent, given when you tick the box and send the form (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation). You may withdraw it at any time by writing to the address above; withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
How long it is kept
Messages are kept for one year from our last contact with you, unless the conversation leads to a contractual relationship, in which case they are kept for its duration and afterwards for the periods required by tax and commercial law. After that they are deleted.
Who else processes your data
To operate, this website relies on two services, which act as processors and may not use your data for their own purposes:
- Google Cloud / Firebase, which hosts the website and runs the function
that receives the form. That function runs in the
europe-west1region (Belgium), inside the European Union. - Google (Gmail), which delivers and stores the message in the mailbox used to reply to you.
Your information is not disclosed to anyone else, sold, or shared for advertising purposes. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area on the basis of the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
The form does not pass through any outside service: the data is sent directly to this domain, encrypted over HTTPS.
Cookies, analytics and logs
This website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, and uses no analytics or tracking tools. The details are in the cookies policy.
Like any server, the hosting records the requests it receives, including technical data such as the IP address, the date and the browser, in order to keep the service running and detect abuse. The service that processes the form records any errors without storing the content of your message.
Your rights
You can exercise the following rights by writing to info@softie.dev, stating
which one you wish to exercise. You will receive an answer within one month.
- Access: to know what data about you is being processed and obtain a copy.
- Rectification: to correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data.
- Erasure: to ask for your data to be deleted when it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected for, when you withdraw consent, or when it has been processed unlawfully.
- Restriction: to ask that your data be kept but not processed while a challenge to its accuracy or an objection is being verified.
- Objection: to object to the processing on grounds relating to your particular situation.
- Portability: to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format, or to have it transmitted to another controller where technically feasible.
- Withdrawal of consent at any time.
If you believe the processing does not comply with the law, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es), the competent supervisory authority in Spain, or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
Security
Technical and organisational measures are in place to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access and improper processing. Form submissions travel encrypted, the mail password is held in a secrets manager and does not appear in the website’s code, and access to messages is limited to the controller.
Changes to this policy
If the way the website works changes in a manner that affects the processing of your data, this policy will be updated and the date shown at the top will change.
